Do you ever have those super productive periods where you’re on fire (not literally, of course, because I mean- hello? how would you sew?) and everything you touch turns to sewing gold? My stash reorganisation totes inspired one of those- I’ve been making pieces I am really happy with and even the ones that I was all meh over I’ve learnt some epic fitting techniques or new skills. So imagine to my surprise that after I finished my awesome leaves Cambie I discovered I have lost my sewjo. I’m not sure where that sucker has gone! Perhaps I left it at a cocktail bar in Sydney, under my desk at work, or even track side at derby… Let me try and chase it down…

Bwah ha ha! See my lame segway into showing you a picture of me skating. I’m so tricky like that! But enough idle chit chat…
I’ve planned my next project and it’s cut out and ready to go. I’m going to attempt a modified Colette Patterns Roobios for a work dress. I’m using some of the gorgeous grey wool with an embroidered pink border print and will be making a lining out of pink polka dotted cotton and some light pink rayon. It’s going to be pretty rad.
But I’m not feeling it. This sassy number is going to make a fabulous winter work dress but what the heck was I thinking getting started on it in spring? Duh! So for the first time ever, I’m going to pack a project away and stash it for a few months. This is my first unfinished object and I must admit to being a little scared about this. But I think my sewjo is starting to come back with this plan because I am seeing a cute as a button sundress in my future and it is going to rock!
And on a side note, Canberra is starting to look fabulous as spring sets in. I’ve started parking 15 minutes away from work so I can enjoy a walk in. So worth it when you get to see early morning balloon rides over a museum.
And even more exciting is husband and I are coming up on our first wedding anniversary. I had a meeting at the museum next to where we got married the other day and decided to take a stroll through the gardens where we got hitched. It’s looking so lovely!
But enough digressing… I think it’s time to pour a cocktail and start going through my patterns… Let’s get sewing!
